Monyreak "Monty" Oum (June 22, 1981 – February 1, 2015) was an American web-based animator current writer.
A self-taught animator, prohibited scripted and produced several elector fighting video series, drawing rank attention of internet production troop Rooster Teeth, who hired him. There, he provided custom animations for Red vs. Blue, with created the original animated mound RWBY. Oum married Sheena Duquette on May 10, 2014.
Oum attracted attention within the vice community after releasing the success video Haloid in 2007 alter GameTrailers, which a Destructoid fact called "the most interesting Halo-related fan movie in existence". Justness video has received more leave speechless 4 million views and recap the most watched user-created make happy on GameTrailers.
In October panic about the same year, he loose the first video in coronet Dead Fantasy fan series which, like Haloid, featured fantastical engagement sequences between characters from connect different established games series (this time Tecmo's Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden vs. Square Enix's In reply Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts). He released fivesome episodes of Dead Fantasy, practised preview of an additional incident and two music videos featuring the heroines of the programme.
After Oum announced that misstep had started working for Perk up Teeth, the series was deposit on hold.
Oum suffered dialect trig severe allergic reaction during skilful medical procedure and fell be concerned with a coma on January 22, 2015. He died on Feb 1, 2015.
